TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The terms & conditions on this page explain the agreement (contract) between Come On Out – English (herein referred to as COOE) and you, the user of COOE’s services or products.
You automatically agree to fully accept COOE’s terms & conditions anytime you do any of the following: visit COOE’s website or social media pages, purchase services or products from COOE, receive free services or products from COOE, participate in lessons, courses or programs operated by COOE, or when you become a COOE member or subscriber.
COOE retains the right to change its terms and conditions at any time without the prior approval of its students, teachers or other stakeholders. These changes will be immediately reflected on our website at this page – the date below reflects, and will always reflect, the current iteration.
EFFECTIVE DATE: 08-27-21
PRIVACY POLICY
COOE respects your privacy and allows you complete control of your personal data and information. We share none of your personal data or information with anyone for any reason. Complete privacy policy coming soon – please let us know if you would like to read our full privacy policy or if you have any questions via email at [email protected].
LESSON CANCELLATION
In order to respect our teacher’s busy schedules, all cancellations need at least 4 hours notice. Cancellation policy is determined by subscription status, as explained below:
- General Lesson Subscription – If you cancel with less than 4 hours notice, you lose your paid-for lesson. If a teacher cancels with less than 4 hours notice, you get a free make-up class at the discretion of COOE. Students (and teachers) must log in to cancel their class in the COOE scheduling system and include a written reason for cancellation (we also recommend a personal message to the respective student or teacher).
- Business Course Subscription – If you cancel with less than 4 hours notice, you lose your paid-for lesson and move onto the next lesson in the course. At their own discretion, teachers are allowed to cover the missed material briefly in the next lesson. If a teacher cancels with less than 4 hours notice, you will reschedule the missed lesson for another date/time. If needed, at the end of the course, students will be given a course extension at COOE’s discretion.
- Class Absence or Tardiness – If you miss a lesson without notification, the above penalties will be incurred. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the lesson, you will be marked as absent and the above penalties will be incurred. If you are less than 15 minutes late to the lesson, you may still participate in the lesson (but may miss some material) and avoid cancellation penalties. Regardless, please always message your teacher or student when a cancellation, absence or late arrival occurs.
ADDITIONAL SCHEDULING CONDITIONS
Students and teachers are responsible to check their scheduled classes via our online booking platform on the COOE website. COOE is not responsible for incorrect or unintended booking times or dates. Please always double and triple-check your time zones and booking times to ensure attendance. All lessons must be scheduled at least 4 hours prior to the lesson start
time to optimize our scheduling process
and ensure smooth operations for both students and teachers.
Teacher availability will vary, so we encourage students to book with multiple teachers if needed for more consistent lessons. Students are not required to study with the same teacher each lesson. If your preferred teacher is unavailable, please check the booking system to schedule an alternative. Teacher schedules are updated weekly but are subject to change at the teachers’ discretion. Students and teachers may utilize the COOE messaging system on the booking platform for any scheduling questions or concerns.
CLASS LENGTH AND OPERATION
- Each lesson is pre-determined by the subscription type or current course enrollment. These include 25 and 50-minute lessons. These lessons may also include optional or required pre-lesson assignments (such as reading) and post-lesson homework. Please refer to your specific subscription or course enrollment (or ask your teacher) for clarification when needed.
- Each lesson will occur on Zoom via a provided Zoom link per lesson. Students and teachers are responsible for competence in Zoom and testing audio, video and internet connection prior to the lesson. Extra time or lessons will not be provided due to any of the aforementioned technical issues.
- For quality control purposes, classes may be recorded, but must first gain the verbal and/or written consent of both student and teacher. COOE will always ask permission prior to any video or audio recording.
CONTENT AND CURRICULUM
By participating in COOE lessons or courses, all students agree to acquire the required material needed to complete the lessons or course. If students enroll in a course that utilizes materials created and privately owned by COOE, students are not permitted to share this content with anyone not currently enrolled in a COOE course. Thank you for respecting the hard work of our curriculum team. Please let us know if you have any comments or concerns about our curriculum by emailing us at [email protected] – thanks!
TEACHER QUALITY
All of our teachers have undergone or will undergo a strict vetting process and are contractors (not employees) of COOE. We expect them to follow these Terms and Conditions as well as our Privacy Policy, however, we are not ultimately responsible for what they do with any information you volunteer to give them during your lessons. Teachers will always be held responsible for their conduct and will be held liable for any content of their communications our students deem to be offensive, derogatory or inappropriate in any way. We hold no responsibility for this, however, the COOE team will investigate and discipline any teachers if necessary (specific discipline is determined at the discretion of COOE).
Our teachers are required to have the following:
- A Certified TEFL-Certificate or Equivalent (e.g. TESOL or TESL Certificate)
